Mission Housing Ministries - Guatemala
Traveling with us? Here's a taste of what to expect.

God is in Control!

No matter how much planning we do, God will lead your trip.  This means that you need to be ready for physical and spiritual challenges, and prepared to see and feel God working in and through you.

You're a long way from home!

The flight is only about 2.5 hours from Miami, but the drive from Guatemala City to Comitancillo takes 6-8 hours.  The company is always good.  The scenery is spectacular and unique to Guatemala.  And when you reach Comi you'll be ready for a great dinner.

Our vehicles are late model and well-maintained.  Our hosts make this trip regularly and are excellent drivers.  The meal you receive when you arrive at Mission House will be prepared with love and care to keep you healthy and strong for the coming days of ministry work.

Comitancillo is Beautiful!

Comitancillo is nestled up in the mountains of Northwestern Guatemala.  The nearby volcano Tajumulco is the highest peak in Central America at 13,845 ft.

The land is covered with a patchwork of small family farms where corn and beans are the primary crops, but some farms grow vegetables and fruits of all varieties.  The soil is fertile and the climate mild making for good farming.

Mission House is safe and comfortable.

Over many years, we have moved from sleeping on the floors of churches to having a more comfortable place to return at the end of each day.  Mission House is set up like a boarding house.  It can accommodate up to 20 people and while not everyone has a bathroom in his or her room, there are good bathrooms right down the hall.

Juana and Esperanza clean and cook for our teams.  Learning from years of experience, there are particular cleaning and food preparation processes that help keep teams healthy and strong for ministry.  The meals are always good, and have an authentic local flair.

The people are friendly and welcoming!

We commonly hear how happy and welcoming the people are to our teams.  Great friendships and relationships have been forged over the years.  We look forward to seeing our brothers and sisters in Christ on each and every visit.

The Ministry will be powerful!

Whether you are doing children's ministry, building houses for widows, hosting medical clinics, helping to train local leaders, or just sharing good Christian fellowship, the time can be more powerful than you might expect.
